Could it be this simple? Three Meals a Day equals Sustainable Weight Loss. For years, I struggled with weight gain and weight loss. The older I got, the more pounds I added. When I was younger, I could eat anything I wanted and didn’t gain weight. Frankly, for years, I didn’t even look at my weight. I felt good and looked good. That changed. I started seeing my belly creep over my pants and didn’t like the way it looked. So I started on my weight loss and dieting journey. I probably lost and gained 1000 pounds, 10 pounds at a time. After much research and trying many diets, such as carnivore, keto, vegan, and others, I found that the simplest answer to my weight loss struggles and keeping off the weight was not only managing the calories and food that I ate, but also managing when I ate.

Three Meals a Day

Prior to the year 2000, America didn’t face the same obesity problem it does today. Research suggests that one of the reasons for this is that people used to eat only three times a day, with no snacking in between. This approach to eating can be effective for weight loss because it helps to manage calorie intake and regulate digestion. By limiting meals to three times a day, we can be more mindful of the foods we’re eating and ensure that we’re getting the nutrients our bodies need without overindulging. When we eat frequently throughout the day, it can be easy to consume more calories than our bodies need, leading to weight gain over time. Additionally, frequent snacking can cause blood sugar levels to fluctuate, which can contribute to feelings of hunger and cravings for unhealthy foods.

Sustainable Weight Loss

Feeling inspired, I decided to give it a try and limit my eating to three only meals a day. I also made sure that I had at least four hours between meals. It was a little difficult at first, especially when I was used to snacking throughout the day. But I stuck with it, and soon they found that I was feeling less hungry and had more energy.

As I continued with the three-meals-a-day approach, I found that planning my meals ahead of time was crucial for success. I started preparing my meals at home instead of eating out, which allowed me to control the portion sizes and nutritional content of each meal. I also made sure to include a variety of healthy foods, such as lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, in my diet.

Although I reduced my carb and sugar intake, I didn’t completely eliminate them from my diet. Instead, I focused on consuming these foods in moderation and choosing healthier options, such as whole grain bread and fruit, over highly processed snacks and desserts. By making these small changes to my diet, I was able to achieve sustainable weight loss without feeling deprived or hungry.

In addition to managing my eating habits, I also started incorporating regular exercise into my routine. I found that a combination of strength training and cardio helped to boost my metabolism and burn more calories throughout the day. Even small changes, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking further away, can make a big difference in overall health and weight loss goals.

My experience with the three-meals-a-day approach taught me that sustainable weight loss is not just about what you eat, but also when you eat. By making small changes to my eating habits and incorporating regular exercise into my routine, I was able to achieve my weight loss goals and feel healthier and happier than ever before.

Healthy and Happy

In the end, I successfully achieved my weight loss goal and felt happier and healthier than ever before. I’m grateful that I discovered a better way to manage my diet and weight. Before starting a diet, it’s important to consult a doctor and ensure that it’s a safe option for your situation.

By eating only three meals a day, and making changes to my eating habits, I have maintained a healthy weight. Another tip that has worked well for me is to avoid eating within two hours of bedtime. This not only helps to keep the weight off but also improves my sleep quality.

Through my weight loss journey, I learned that sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. By making small changes to my eating habits, I was able to achieve lasting results without feeling deprived or overwhelmed. With patience, consistency, and a positive mindset, anyone can achieve their weight loss goals and improve their health and wellbeing.
